Hello everyone! Welcome to the 127th Scavenger Hunt! I have been participating in this for over 4 years, so saying I am excited to be your host is an understatement. Quick note, as it is October, I am not much of a horror fan, but I am leaving these prompts somewhat genreless, so if you want to go for a spooky hunt, you totally can.
Shoutout to Danny for hosting the September Hunt!

But make sure you tag your list and reviews with scavenger hunt 127 so we can find them.
I am a Leo, so I love to talk about myself, so if you would like a more direct prompt, you can find them in the notes.
#1. Hello! My name is Esther, and I wanted to introduce myself. On Letterboxd, the easiest way to get to know someone is by watching their favorites. Watch one of my favorites
#2. I am originally from Seattle but have now spent half my life in LA. Watch a movie that takes place in Seattle or LA.
#3. Growing up Christian, my parents didn't allow me to watch or read series like Hunger Games or Harry Potter. Watch a movie from a famous series you've never seen.
#4. While my parents were very strict over what we couldn't watch, there were many movies they overlooked. Watch a movie my parents were shocked we never saw.

#7. While we are talking about black swan, that movie has become one of my favorite sub-genres. Watch a movie about an obsessed artist.
#8. While in LA, I went to 3 different high schools. 2 of them were pretty historic. RFK was built on the coconut grove where RFK was shot. And Venice High School, where movies like Greece and American History X were filmed. Watch a movie that uses an actual school as a filming location.
#9. After High School, I ventured out and lived in Mexico with some friends for a year. Watch a movie from Mexico.
#10. Mexico was 5 years ago, but I still have been trying to keep up my Spanish by using it wherever I can. Shoutout to my boyfriend for also helping me keep it up. Watch a movie in a language you want to learn/keep up
#11. Due to COVID, I came back and went to community college in LA. At first, I studied film for a while. Watch a movie I had to watch for school
#12. During COVID, I started watching more shows, one of them being Arrested Development. That show is so amazing, I would say largely due to the cast. Watch a movie with a cast member from Arrested Development.
#13. There are 2 other shows I want to shout out. First being Gilmore Girls, I grew up with it, and then I also got to work where it was filmed. Watch a movie referenced in Gilmore Girls.
#14. The second show is Bojack Horseman, one of the greatest shows to ever exist in my opinion. Watch a movie referenced in Bojack Horseman.
#15. Bojack centers around Hollywood and the industry. Watch a movie about making movies in some aspect.
#16. Also, during COVID, one of my best friends, Sieg, would do a movie swap with me. Watch a movie, Sieg and I did on our movie swap.
#17. One of my favorite trips was going to Vienna to see where "Before Sunrise" was filmed. We also went to a Hans Zimmer concert there, 100/10 best trip ever. Watch a movie in a country you want to travel to.
#18. In case you haven't noticed, I'm super into movie locations. I was a tour guide at Warner Brothers for 3 years! Watch a movie that was filmed on the Warner Brothers lot. (bonus points if it was a backlot)
#19. Warner Brothers has a very rich history, and that means not all movies have the luxury of filming on the lot. Watch a movie from our promotional video.
#20. While at this job I met a lot of cool people also interested in film. I would be remiss not to shout some of them out. Watch one of my old coworkers' top 4.
#21. After a while I switched my major to English, and I'm loving it. With my love for English comes my love for writing. I am, of course, a big fan of screenwriting. Watch a movie that won the best original screenplay Oscar.
#22. While screenplays are my favorite aspect of film, my second would have to be the score. Spin my wheel of composers and watch one of their movies.
#23. I recently moved out to Berkeley and am attending UC Berkeley. This campus was an inspiration for Monsters University. Watch a movie that heavily features monsters.
#24. You know what else was filmed here? Oppenhiemer. They not only filmed here, but the real-life Oppenheimer had his office here as well. Watch a biopic that isn't music-related.
#25. As I mentioned, I just transferred into Berkeley for my undergraduate studies, and I realized how much I love school, specifically college. Watch a movie that takes place primarily at a college.
#26. I am currently taking a Shakespeare class at Berkeley, and my professor had us watch Kurosawa's Ran for the class. Watch a movie based on a Shakespeare play.
#27. Now that I'm here, I have plans to go to Grad School. Dreaming big for Harvard. Watch a movie that takes place on the East Coast.
#28. A significant goal of mine has been to transition my writing style into a more critical, journalistic approach. Watch a movie about journalism/news coverage.
#29. I can't talk about my film journey without talking about Letterboxd. These scavenger hunts have opened me up to new films I would never see; unfortunately, it's hard to get to some of them. Watch a movie that you missed in a previous hunt. If this is your first hunt, watch one of mine :)
#30. I have a tradition with myself that every night before a major holiday, I watch the Charlie Brown special. Watch a short about Halloween/fall.
#31. Happy Halloween! Let's be festive and watch a movie that centers on or takes place on Halloween.
If there's a prompt you don't like or can't fulfill, shuffle my watchlist and watch the first one that comes up.
