Progress (17/31)
Look ... I made 42% last year, so I won't even pretend I'll finish this year. Simply can't find the time anymore to immerse myself as much as I used to in previous editions. And yet, I love my routines and this has been a steady part of my life for six years 🖤. Look ... I made 42% last year, so I won't even pretend I'll finish this year. Simply can't find the time anymore to immerse myself as much as I used to in previous editions. And yet, I love my routines and this has been a steady part of my life for six years 🖤. As much suffering as there is — predominantly thinking about Palestine, but also ICE and the current situation in D.C. as well as some personal relationships I had to work through — horror remained the one thing that sooths and comforts me. This year once again clarified for me that I seldom turn towards cinema for 'a good time', but I somehow managed to still render this a method through which I can think, cope and hope.
Last year I started to switch up things on the extra curricular and did a book list (instead of a cinematic side program) to get my reading going again and I loved the experience so, so much that I did finish all of the books I wanted to read. Think I'll keep this going throughout the next years. This year I'll read:
The Monk — Matthew Gregory Lewis (1976)
Ghost Stories Of An Antiquary — M.R. James (1904)
Song Of Kali — Dan Simmons (1985)
Succulent Prey — Wrath James White (2008)
The Spectacle Of The Void — David Peak (2014)
