Year... wait, let me count... Nine? Can't believe it's been almost a decade now. I've gotta say, I'm super excited and can't wait for the sweet procrastinating of life and school and etc. by horror-ifying myself into a full-out coma. I have moved in with my boyfriend recently (first launched to the community on Hooptober 2022), so I will see how that collides with my usual viewing habits, but I'm fairly optimistic about it (I love him so much). To be perfectly honest, I'm so locked in with this thing, it's like for a month it's more important than anything, so…

Year... wait, let me count... To be perfectly honest, I'm so locked in with this thing, it's like for a month it's more important than anything, so I think I've got it.
I love this year's prompts (I was at first a bit taken aback by the inclusion of Russian cinema; I'm usually against the boycott of Russian culture, but I also don't think it needs particular spotlighting. I guess one can take this opportunity to look for horror cinema from other post-Soviet countries, such as Ukraine or Turkic republics). I did make one slight change; my Halloween season viewings are always about (1) first-time watches of (2) horror movies. Having already seen The Wizard of Oz, and not considering it a horror film, I have swapped it for an actual horror film directed by Victor Fleming; I will make sure to rewatch The Wizard of Oz somewhere down the line as well too though, but it might not get the usual Hooptober treatment.
Other than that, well, you know the drill: I start on October 1st, and the films and their order are subject to possible change, more likely than not with the ones near the end of the list. As always, big shout-out and thank you to Cinemonster and the wonderful community he manages to cultivate. Happy Hooping everybody!
