A.K.A "Britsha Will FINALLY Complete a Film Watching Challenge (Surely)"
So, I've taken part in the 7th, 8th and 10th LSCs (Letterboxd Season Challenge*), yet I have never finished one of these. The cycle has been I set everything up and get in a groove for a couple months, then life seems to happen and my focus dies. I have always wanted to complete one of these, though, and I feel determined this time will be the one. This is the first time I've kept track of when the new LSC has released and made my list immediately, ready to send it when the season starts.
Despite having a pretty lengthy break from film watching, I have a good feeling about what I can do this LSC!
*For those unaware what this is, 33 themes are designated to make up 33 "weeks", and you must assign 33 films you've never watched before to those themes and watch them within the 33 weeks. The challenge will go from September 1st, 2025 until May 3rd, 2026.
As usual, I had great fun putting together my list and seeing what things from my watchlist I could make work, and finding out about some new interesting films and their contexts. I do kinda wish I had locked in last season and completed the challenge, as it was just too perfect having the 2 Stuart Little films at the start of it, as well as a whole bunch of other fun films. Never mind though, time to move forward, and I've got a pretty solid line-up with this LSC! A good chunk of these are films I've really wanted to watch but haven't had the push to do it. I'm interested to see how my personal ratings will go, and whether I'll actually like the films I've built up in my head. I've had couple moments in previous LSCs where I did not end up liking films I really thought I would. We'll see what happens!
To see what theme each film has been chosen for, you can click "Read Notes", which also includes alternative picks for weeks if the film I've chosen doesn't work out. There's also some extra notes for some of the picks of personal thoughts or anecdotes of my choices.
I'll list below the films I watch in order.
