A trans cop with the New York City Police Department goes undercover to make a drug bust.
being trans and a cop is already so much cognitive dissonance that i literally cannot believe girlie feels guilt over this. like.... quit your job! 🙄
Can only hope this gets the trajectory of Sundance short turned into full feature at some point. In just 11 minutes, Angalis Field gives us such a rich world of trans women trying to make it in this life, grinding it out however they can. Lux Pascal’s performance is quite possibly the best I’ve seen at the festival. In just that short time, we see so much in her face as she’s grappling with the responsibility to her job versus the moral responsibility to a woman who has faced so much of the same struggle she faces. Just watching her process every detail is a masterclass in silent acting.
Sundance 2024 Short Film #4
I would give my life for Lux Pascal, but girly I’m conflicted cause you’re a cop!
someone having a lock screen of Lana Del Rey’s Interview Magazine photoshoot and SOPHIE playing ohhhh this was it.
my favorite short film of the program. there was so much depth (and representation!) packed in such a short time, and I’d be the first in line to see a full feature. Lux Pascal you are a star. Can’t wait to see more from Angelis Field.
this is why we say “no cops at pride” (lol) but for real, there’s so much conflict internally in the lead in this role and it’s all conveyed distinctly and clearly in her performance. the shots capture each of those details so well, so props to the whole team
