Nominated for, and winner of, awards at a few festivals, the animation of Marty’s Guidebook stands out with a minimalist, handcrafted style, almost like “sketches in motion.” The film uses an aesthetic reminiscent of hand-drawn illustration: irregular outlines, light textures, simple color fills. Each frame feels as though it could have been taken from a notebook or a personal journal, reinforcing the idea of a “guidebook.” It’s truly beautiful.
In my opinion, the short film somewhat clumsily attempts to express a universal truth: you can follow every guide in the world, but there is no procedure for learning how to be yourself. Tony is simply too good for the world we live in. He’ll need to say “no” more often,…
Very cute, chapter-separated animated short about how kindness is layered. Sometimes it's out of good intent, sometimes it's selfishness that looks like selflessness, but either way it can get us what, where, and whom we want next. Even a bum angel who really likes binging Riverdale
forced to watch Riverdale hits too close to home. anyways, get this dude a budget for an animated feature-length please.
Whatever kind of humor this is, it’s exactly what I enjoy. Pretty much a perfect viewing experience for me.
Possibly wooden, excessively long armed boy kidnapped by Riverdale obsessed angel and taught how to be real boy by the girl on the street.
Can someone explain why this is not an Oscar winner from Poland? Animator Fest winner or Ale Kino Grand Prix winner ? One of the best animation movie I saw in Poland in 2023/24, amazing and I don't see any promotion, awards...is this because we are in Poland and our "critics" are killing all good stuff or what? Grand PRIX from Janek Kwiatek here <3
Very much vibed with the style of this. Super quick and funny too. Loved the constant hiss, weird distorted lenses. Just kind of in its own universe.
