This movie is ridiculous. It’s dumb as hell. Silly as shit. Very similar to Bullet Train in both plot and tone but made with a fraction of the budget. And it kinda…rocks?
I love Josh Hartnett, and this is very impressive for a feature debut from James Madigan; the action is bonkers but clear and the comedy is well-timed.
Fuck it, watch it.
My new goal in life is to one day have as much fun as I imagine Josh Hartnett had filming this stupid movie.
Bullet Train if it was actually fun and not smug and annoying. Josh rules, action is very good and had at least five kills that made me cackle with delight. A good time!
Good close quarters fight choreo, very well cut. Relatively pretty funny especially compared to other recent similar stuff (I'm looking at you KILLERS GAME). Marko Zaror fights Josh Hartnett.
Josh Hartnett covered in blood and bruises wearing a tight pink t-shirt and sporting yellow hair. Basement flooded!!
I’m surprised Josh Hartnett was allowed to board the plane because his tight pink strawberry milk shirt was so Bomb.
Whatever chapter we’re in with Josh Hartnett’s career, I hope it never ends. He’s clearly having the time of his life lately, and FIGHT OR FLIGHT is no exception. First-time director James Madigan delivers a wild mashup of “John Wick” and “Bullet Train,” only this time, it’s 30,000 feet in the air on a plane. From the opening shot to the final blow, this over-the-top film is nonstop claustrophobic carnage and mayhem, with everything cranked up to 100. The fight choreography and camerawork (shot by The Raid cinematographer Matt Flannery) are bursting with energy, and watching Hartnett perform his own stunts adds plenty of thrills and humor. I’m not entirely sold on the sequel tease, but for what it is, I had a bloody good time.

Functionally Bullet Train with the epic bacon humor dial turned slightly down, pretty good fights that make creative use of the locked-in airplane space considering the Direct-to-Redbox production values (though I would've preferred for the splatter to be a bit less digital), and led by an actor who is still hungry and trying to prove he's a star. I do hope at some point we move beyond the John Wick everyone is a secret assassin economy world-building but credit to Hartnett's charisma and 2012 Warped Tour dirtbag look, he successfully strongarms a lot of what could've easily been annoying about this (like an extended drug trip action sequence) into being watchable. Out-of-nowhere introduction of the mountain wuxia warriors good bit.
