A ranking of the most impactful LGBTQ+ films I’ve seen. These works explore identity, love, struggle, and joy through a wide range of perspectives.
There are some disclaimers I need to do here. Not all the movies I include in this list are explicitly LGBTQ+, with this I mean not all the characters or stories include an open and out of the closet characters.

Other movies do not include explicitly queer stories, but have become canon movies for the LGBTQ+ community, like Mulan because of its exploration of gender in a kids movie.
In addition, a few movies include drag queen characters that are not necessarily LGBTQ+. Some of these movies like Some like it Hot, include characters that are heterosexual and use drag as a tool for their storylines apart from looking for their own identity or in a sexual way. I'm still debating if I'll keep these movies in this list or if I'm deleting them.
I intend to limit this list to 100 films, so this is still a work in progress.
