I often find myself staring at a movie with a long runtime and eventually being psyched out by it. Hell, I probably spend longer debating whether or not to watch a long movie than it would take to actually watch it.
I can't remember if I saw Mark post about this in the Letterboxd group on Facebook or if it was r/Letterboxd but either way, I love the idea of making a challenge out of it, so from June 2025 to June 2026 I'll be trying to watch 12 movies that are 3+ hours long.

Mark's original list adds the stipulation of a movie from each decade, but I think I'm going to add the stipulation for myself that each movie must be from a different director, otherwise I'm gonna end up with like four Rivette movies lmao*
*Gonna make an exception for The Human Condition and gonna try and watch the whole trilogy as one since I have the Arrow Academy Blu-Ray
Disclaimer: I'm not necessarily looking forward to Birth of a Nation, but I'm interested to see it in its historical context since it's regarded as such an innovative movie. I fully expect to abhor the subject matter.
