The Lost Gold: Lost Worlds at the Oscars

The Lost World genre is a fantasy/science-fiction subgenre that focuses on the discovery of previously unknown civilizations, usually either primitive ancient lands of dinosaurs and cave dwellers or incredibly advanced futuristic societies that have hidden themselves from the modern world. They were a popular staple of Victorian literature and have often been adapted to film as big adventure blockbusters.
