Snoozefest.

Fun to get to see the premier at The Rio with cast and crew in attendance. Kind of got off to a slow start, but once it got going there were some fun effective shots. The father getting hypnotized was pretty cool. The creatures were pretty fun too. There was also some good sound design, which is funny because the director complained that the distributor had sent the wrong sound edit.

My second kinda apocalyptic scenario involving eco horror or aliens within a week.
I'd not heard of neither of these impressively low budget sci-fi projects and their indigenous connections via actors or source materials.

I wish everyone in this film a “better luck next time.” Especially the kid who plays Rosie. Get some decent acting lessons and you might have a future in the business. More First Nations actors are always welcome.

Low budget sci-fi eco horror. Excruciating dialogue. Blunt force messaging. At least British Columbia is pretty.

PEOPLE DO NOT BELIEVE THE SCIENCE ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE AND SPECIES DEATH. PEOPLE CONSUME TOO MUCH. THEY WILL BECOME THE LESS DOMINANT SPECIES.

What does Frank even do to be able to afford that house? His deceased wife was a painter. Was she incredibly successful?
Please, someone explain at least part of the logic in the base world building. I get every single metaphor, but… damn.

Always a pleasure to see the creative work of B.C. filmmakers. Love the sci-fi aspects of the film and the attractive location. Congratulations to Alexander Lasheras and the team on getting The Beehive out in the world! 🎉

A Canada day watch. The CBC Gem description leads one to think it's more horror/sci fi than it is, it's 3/4 family drama, and a bit too slow paced (or that slow pacing is not rich enough), so it doesn't feel like it gets going until the last 20 minutes. There are some good ideas though and committed actors, but the script needed tightening.

The acting and writing were terrible. There was no second act. Nothing happens for two-thirds of the movie. Even then, nothing else much happens, other than panicked characters.

Simply boring.

There was some low budget family sci-fi movie charm (I quite liked the aliens). Reminded me of something I’d catch on tv as a kid.
