idk how yoongi wasn’t scared seeing all those framed photos in steve aoki’s house
“‘you become an adult the moment you stop dreaming.’ i used to say that. and i don’t have any dreams now.”
i’m gonna start by giving a preface, just like i did in my j-hope in the box review, saying that i’m not just giving this a high rating because i’m an army (and in this case a yoongi bias), but because it’s genuinely good. i’m sorry but bts documentaries always go so hard, they know what they’re doing.
this documentary got me so emotional, i don’t know how i’ll recover from this. being a 21 year old with no 100% concrete idea of what i want to do with my life, listening to yoongi talk about dreams disappearing as…
maybe i am biased but maybe he is also my biggest source of happiness and motivation
“the past is the past, the present is the present, the future is the future. put too much meaning into them and they will torment you.”
"i used to tell the bts members, you become an adult the moment you stop dreaming. and i don't have any dreams now. so now i ask myself, what do i need to dream of?"
what a privilege it is, to be allowed to see a sparkle of an artist's daily life like this, their work ethic, their thoughts and feelings, their most vulnerable moments, their lows and insecurities, the domesticity of it all, taking us on their journey of making music and learning with them...
i teared up at his meeting with ryuichi sakamoto (may he rest in peace), the intensity of their conversation, witnessing yoongi asking one of the biggest inspirations and motivators in his life what drove…
yoongi it seems ive grown even more fond of you tho there are no sexual urges or desires (lesbian) you come to me as a long lost friend whom i once picked apples with in papa's orchard.
yoongi is growing a garden out of heartaches and gently offering it to the world. life is a plight of weeds and i am grateful to have found your flowers, yoongi <3
That moment after their conversation, where Yoongi is so nervous playing Ryuichi Sakamoto's piece on the piano for his idol and then Sakamoto playing it for him, made me so emotional. Yoongi left that meeting inspired, excited about his future as an artist for decades to come – that he'll always find something new to explore. The fact that Sakamoto is eventually featured on Snooze, the song directly inspired by his music. That this encounter and following song recording happened so close to Sakamoto's passing. It's such a special moment, not just for me, but probably for Yoongi as well.
the clip of him cracking up when halsey put his hair into tiny buns may have added years to my life
