The time has come. This year's results are about to be published. Due to the automated evaluation by thx4711, the result could be determined much faster this year.

93 lists were submitted. In addition, 116 lists from participants who submitted a top 500 last year were evaluated. That makes a total of 209 lists with 104,494 individual votes. 17,010 different titles were named. Of these, 8,321 received only one vote.
Why the odd number 104,494? Letterboxd deleted a few movies over the course of the year and apparently recreated them with new IDs. These were also removed from the latest poll and individual lists.…

This year we are aiming for a more reliable release schedule:
January 4th - January 23rd: 100 films every day (up to the top 2000)
January 24th - February 2nd: 200 films every day (up to the top 4000)
February 3th - February 26th: 200 films every day (up to 2nd place (8689))
March 2nd - April 24th: 500 films every Monday and Friday (all 1st place votes)
The notes of each film contain some interesting data about the last poll (list view).
The film notes were supplemented with "seen". For this, I analyzed 204 of the 209 participants. Only 5 of them had saved the 500 most-watched films on Letterboxd.
The votes were distributed as follows.
If the number of votes is the same, the higher ranking in the last poll applies.

Dear film lovers,
many thanks again to all participants in our film surveys.
The year 2024 has now been over for some time and the result of the 2024 survey has significantly changed the result of 2023. Many films have left our list, but almost 2,000 new titles have been added.
Thanks to the honorable commitment of thx4711, our survey was raised to a much more professional level. Gone is the tedious counting of tens of thousands of individual votes. It is now also possible to name the ranking of the individual films in last year's surveys.
But after the poll is before the poll and the call now follows for everyone interested to take part in our 2025 survey.
Since every reasonably committed film fan sees at least between 100 and 500 (or even significantly more) films per year, the individual top 500 lists are likely to change every year, which will hopefully lead to a lot of movement in the overall result.
Of course, we hope that in addition to the regular participants, many new LB users will also stumble across our survey and also submit a top 500 list. The only requirement for first-time participants is still that they should have seen at least 3,000 films. It would be nice if our regular voters could advertise our survey, because unfortunately we were prohibited by LB from sending out advertising links. That's why there will be no more reminder emails.
So we're now betting that our survey won't be forgotten during 2025 and that everyone will submit their updated top 500 by the end of the year. Since there are certainly participants whose top 500 will only change minimally or not at all by the end of the year, they should of course still post their list. Basically, everyone should continue to maintain their top 500 regardless of our survey and link the list here at some point in 2025.
THE DEADLINE IS DECEMBER, 31st 2025.
NO RANKING IS NECESSARY.
