We come to this place for magic.
We come to the Novympia ch’nnel to laugh, to cry, to care. Because we need that, all of us.
That indescribable feeling we get when the lights begin to dim and we go somewhere we’ve never been before.
Not just entertained, but somehow reborn together. Dazzling images on a huge silver screen, sound that I can feel… somehow, heartbreak feels good in a place like this.
Our heroes feel like the best parts of us, and stories feel perfect and powerful… because here… they are.

nothing like a little char on char action to get me in the halloween mood
not sure how well this would be recieved if your not already a fan of their content
but its well edited, the first hour doesnt feel its length, nothing seems to be happening but just enough is ary to keep you invested.
for being a found footage film it keeps a level of cinematic-ness
endings not the best explained but as far as youtuber films go, pretty decent
I never doubted Novympia’s comedic abilities (they both never fail to make me laugh in their videos) But having seen many microbudget Blair Witch ripoffs, needless to say I didn’t have particularly high expectations for Hoax.
This was fantastic. Although at times you can feel the lack of budget, I’m more than happy to overlook this because of the (mostly) solid performances and an incredibly smart script. Could honestly be worth two viewings as there’s a hefty amount of foreshadowing and I probably missed something. To go for a non-linear structure with a found footage film is so ballsy and although at times I felt it being ‘found’ footage wasn’t too believable, I truly think this is a great time, and the Charmaine telescope jump scare is one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen.
Spooky season //31
She was cute. The natural acting from all of them was the high point of it. Having a cast we know and have watched for a long time being so natural and having in jokes and using phrases we love (suck an egg), helped with liking the characters a lot more.
Olympias love for the Blair Witch Project really comes through, so it makes me happy to see her doing a passion project like this. I hope in the future they can do another type of movie with some backing to it, because it would be insane
