if these just leaned into being dark comedies they’d actually be something entertaining at least.
This isn’t unwatchable, but it’s for sure not a good movie.
who would win in a fight? bambi in this film, or the mutated compound v sheep from the boys?
The “death by antlers” horror subgenre is getting a little crowded. First there’s Antlers (2021) and now this. SO TRENDY
What’s not likely to end anytime soon is the ongoing exploitation of expired copyrights drifting into the public domain. Bambi has been public domain since January 2022, so it’s off to the Twisted Childhood Universe we go, joining two Winnie The Pooh films and one featuring Peter Pan. I still love this concept, and though it got off to a rocky start, the films are getting progressively better.
The plot is a familiar one, and no, it’s nothing like the fairy tale, but rather of a monstrous mutation born of radioactivity and rampaging over the humans who are holding its child captive. Sound…
I'm still fascinated by the creators of the UK and their need to turn every cartoon into a horror film. Unlike other films, I really liked this one. I think they were able to make sense of the story, within reason, and the CGI isn't bad. Considering that the story is about a mutant, murderous Bambi and that everything is ironic, there was one thing I couldn't hold back my laughter: there's a moment where Bambi opens a door handle with his hoof. Really? Anyway, this film is a good way to pass the time.
I don't know why I even bother with these. They don't even have enough heart or enthusiasm to be funny-bad.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

"Sometimes, no matter how hard you try to shield yourself and your family from the dangers of the world, sometimes life has other ideas."
One night, Xana (Roxanne McKee) and her son Benji (Tom Mulheron) take a taxi to drive to the remote house of Xana's mother in the woods to spend time with their family, when a monstrous stag suddenly turns over the car, attacks them and kills the driver. After barely managing to escape and reaching safety, mother and son soon realize the stag is still after them ...
