stupode’s review published on Letterboxd:
reports of this movie's shittiness have been greatly exaggerated
admittedly the first act or so where it tries to tie up a few loose ends from Reloaded are a little weak and confusing but that problem isn't really exclusive to Revolutions
but eventually it gets into its own and once it gets going it GETS GOING
ditching the crazy wire fu spectacle of the first two for a somewhat grittier take (with MECHA SUITS AND GATLING GUNS AND ROCKET LAUNCHERS!!!!) but we all know it was saving the best for last and the final battle doesn't disappoint
it basically takes the over-the-top anime influence to its logical conclusion and goes full-on Dragon Ball Z and it is glorious
there's a few missteps along the way but overall I was pleasantly surprised to find that, contrary to what I've been told my entire life, the Matrix sequels actually DON'T suck
