A personal selection of films featuring cross-dressing or gender swapping.

☝️ What this list is about: characters who 1) present and/or live as a gender that they don't identify with, 2) for a significant time (preferably more than one scene), 3) for practical reasons such as:
- accessing things otherwise inaccessible to their gender;
- escaping a fate reserved to their gender;
- concealing their identity, spying, escaping captors or authorities, etc.

☝️ What it's not about:
- drag performers, and cross-dressing within the scope of the performing arts, theater, etc.;
- trans people who dress according to their gender identity, even though they might not be "passing";
- people with a genderfluid/genderqueer fashion style that fluctuates between more "femme" and more "masc" expressions
