"What makes you different is what makes you Spider-Man."

Those words in the 2nd trailer alone were enough to get my expectations sky high. And when I left that theater, those same expectations were not only meet. They were blown away even further.

Comic-book movies have kinda become the modern Western films of today. Due to their mauve popularity, it seems that the industry has become a bit oversaturated with them thanks in large part to the MCU and even DCEU. Which isn't nessecarly a bad things. Many if not most films each year do well financially and critically. But with oversaturation comes little wiggle room for experimentation. So with Into The Spiderverse taking everyone's favorite webslinging Marvel hero to animation, it was glad to see said experinentation. And this entry (honestly the best since Spider-Man 2 directed by Sam Raimi and starring Tobey Maguire) was a high risk high reward for Sony and all those involved. With much of animated affairc usually leaning toward family / comedy mainly, we haven't seen a big budget animated superhero movie on the big screen since Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.

The story and characters are well packed and well written. Loading loads of personality, sharp character work, and an eventful story which hadn't been seen in other comic book movies. The heroes and allies are all written interestingly with loads of likable and enjoyable personalities each their own. Many hugev emotional momenrs too such are well done and not shoehorned in. The villains are always entertaining throughout and this entry into the Spider-Man series of films is loaded with lots of in jokes Easter eggs and lots of fun things that keep this thing packed to the brim with entertaining substance.

The animation art and colors are honestly boundary-pushing. Loads of flashing colors great lighting wonderful pace in the character movements Especially in action scenes which are v fast but animated fluidly and phenomenally. All of it combined with a great scpre and soundtrack makes this not just one of the best animated movies but one of the best comicbook movies as well.

I've honestly nothing bad do say on this film. If you see one movie before 2018's end, do yourself a favor and watch Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse.

It's an adventure you definitely wanna swing in on.
