Sam🔮’s review published on Letterboxd:
The soundtrack is everything that it’s cracked up to be, and the stories are a delight to take in. Documentaries used to feature genuine human beings just living their lives and chasing their dreams - nowadays I feel like almost everyone that gets in front of a camera seems inauthentic and thirsty for any drop of attention they can get. They still exist, but modern docs with this kind of heart aren’t as prevalent available as they should be. The musicians featured in Buena Vista Social Club had already received their well-earned praise and recognition once this was filmed, but there wasn’t any entitlement or raging egos - just artists who are happy to share their gifts with a world that, until that point, hadn’t been seeing how beautiful their little corner of the world can hold ❤️
