Pretty standard girls vs. boys sword & sorcery flick with plenty of overacting, an abundance of nature shots & some very angry grandmas. There’s a brilliant sequence where our heroes, led by Rita Repulsa from Power Rangers, are climbing the grassy mountain next to a waterfall but in reality it’s just them pretending to climb next to a river while the camera is turned sideways. There’s a man who straps toga man to a bed and throws a large snake on him. He giggles frantically. Unhinged battle sequences where everyone is either swinging uncontrollably at each other or celebrating while everyone else is still fighting. There’s a tiger too. It seems like everyone had fun making this and I had fun watching it.
Similar to Horror, I love Fantasy films and I tend to be more lenient when rating them against other genres, especially those from the 80s and 90s, and I will try and watch anything I haven't seen before and I always keep an open mind when doing so. I thought that this film being directed by Alejandro Sessa, the same director that did the 1986 Fantasy film Amazons, would be turn out to be another cheesy so good it's fun film. HOWEVER, this was utterly abysmal! It wasn't even so bad it's good, it was just plain horrible! I even wouldn't recommend this film to Fantasy buffs. I gave 1 star solely for the stunning attractive Argentine actress, Monica Gonzaga.
a pretty dull film about fighting the matriarchy in a fantasy setting
suffers from having zero set pieces of worth and a hilariously heavy handed moral lesson in the dialogue
Lady warriors decide to smash the matriarchy of their people and free the subjugated men folk. The story is bunk, the cast is cardboard, the costumes are cheap, and the effects are laughable, but the characters are great and there are plenty of giggles to be had.
Irgendwann Irgendwo passiert Irgendwie Irgendwem Irgendwas ;-)
Ein Wald und ein Wasserfall sind auch dabei...
