Ghoul Gruel’s review published on Letterboxd:
“Fear… is incredibly powerful…”
Holy shit.
One of the things I love about grungy 90’s SOV horror is how it fully captures the scene. Leaves me longing for a time that was decades and countries apart from me. The first act here manages to seize the same essence in a modern setting without relying on throwback aesthetics - fuckin rare in low budget indie horror. And it’s fun. Adara Starr is an instant icon.
The middle dips a smidge, prolly coz I wasn’t a fan of our two pink blazered heavies, but the final act dials the trippy dippy blood heavy cult horror up to eleven and goes off the rails.
Full blown cult shit on a 20k budget. Fucking epic.
