Watched this a couple years ago and wasn’t a huge fan of it by any means, however with how much my film taste has changed within the past year I’ve got a feeling I’m going to love this on rewatch

And yeah I did definitely enjoy this a lot more on rewatch, especially considering I forgot most things that actually happened but unfortunately I didn’t love it as much as I thought I was going to.

It’s so crazy that this is the first Oscar that Leo ever won, and I already spoiled next years winners for myself and it might be every crazier that Wolf Of Wall Street didn’t take home any awards.
I do think his performance was fantastic tho which it had to be for a film that pretty much solely relied on it.
He was raw and visceral all the way though, which led to a more haunting portrayal towards the end and his relation with Fitzgerald was fraught with tension really helping the pacing.

Them all seeing Glass after so long, and in their eyes he’s risen from the dead, and the first words out of their mouth in exclamation is “Jesus Christ” seems so obvious but that’s fantastic writing.

The cinematography all throughout this film is absolutely stunning, it perfectly captures the stark beauty of all the landscapes it finds itself in with the honest realisation of its also very unforgiving nature.
Not just in looks but also in plot, the whole premise of this is the exploration between man and nature and it really doesn’t shy away from depicting the brutality of both.
