Oscar Winners (Ranked) (2017)
(Best Supporting Actress)
All I know about this film is that either it was based on a play or is set like a play and honestly I adore films like that so I am massively looking forward to this
And yeah I absolutely loved this, in a film that is entirely dependent on script and performance it excelled on both of those but also so much more.
The dialogue was so rich and layered with theming of systematic racism, generational conflict and personal ambition. Quite literally every conversation that each of their characters had just revealed layer after layer of complexity.
And I’m fairly sure it goes without saying in a film with Denzel,Viola Davis and Stephen McKinley Henderson that every single performance was fantastic and complimented the phenomenal writing.
So close to being a 4.5
