Chipping away at the watchlist to start the year, and blockbuster horror franchises have been the theme. These films do such a good job of making me emotionally invested in its characters, which is something that makes its horror hit so hard. I scare because I care, and this is one of the few PG-13 horrors that the rating never crosses my mind.
Absolutely loved that long take opening sequence and how well the camera keeps you in the action. I was so ready to jump back in after that. I thought Regan being the lead and the addition of Cillian Murphy as Emmet kept its emotional gravity. Had to suspend a bit more logic in the world building in this one, but I thought a bit more sound made for a fun viewing experience. Excited that Pt. 3 might be out this year.
