And we are back with this year's Hooptober! After a very strange year, it's nice to have some form of normality in the form of a community film review season about my favourite genre. After being extremely rigid with the rules last year, I've decided to be a bit more loosey-goosey and relaxed, hence why some of the choices can be best described as studies in lateral thinking...

The first 23 films meet the criteria as set out by the venerable Cinemonster. The last 8 spaces are ones where I've found really cool or unusual horror films in my searches for this year and just want to show them off. I'll also be participating in Edith Wharton's Collab, so Sunday will be for the Boys (and Girls), but I'm very much looking forward to being a part of this again.
Last year, I took this up thinking it would be just a fun small thing and a way to watch new films. I never would have guessed the sudden outpouring of people actually interested in my writing and my rather quirky opinions. And that's why I've returned for this year; I look forward to seeing old friends and new alike and seeing what everyone has chosen to watch.
I hope everyone is well in this current climate. Take care of yourselves, and be excellent to one another.
