I’ve wanted to watch this for soooooo long but just never got round to it for whatever reason. 
My sister was a figure skater as a child so I’m well aware of this whole situation but seeing on screen vs hearing about it is 1000% different so I’m actually pretty excited to watch this

And basically everything that I remember from that world is so well put together in this. They’re all bitchy, snide , rude judgemental all wanna backstab eachother for the smallest thing like a song choice, all the mums are controlling, have cliques of their own and most push eating disorders on their kid
The coaches, judges and owners are all money and power hungry and have skin in the game so choose their favourites and winners of the bat. 
Such an awful world of sport only beaten by Child pageants. 
Great film tho 😭😁 

I’m so glad that Allison Janney won an Oscar, although I don’t think this is her best role that she’s done I think she’s so damn deserving of an Oscar and it could’ve come for multiple roles. 
But even so she’s fantastic in this, it’s insane how much she changes physically for every role. This role probably being most like Prudy Pringleton (Hairspray) with her more harsh temperamental nature however in this it’s a lot more nuanced, she sees everything she’s done in this to be for Tonya which is insane but at times also comes across vulnerable due to her body language which is just so excellently done by Janney. 

We love the Janneyverse.
