Living with the Dead.
Mourning Grave follows Kang In-soo, a high school student burdened with the ability to see ghosts, which has made it difficult for him to fit in. His struggle with this unsettling gift, paired with a deep-seated guilt and regret, leads him to seek solace by moving to a rural town outside of Seoul, where he first discovered his abilities as a child, during a traumatic incident at school.
Living with his uncle, who shares his supernatural abilities, In-soo hopes for a fresh start. However, his past seems determined to follow him. In-soo’s struggle to fit in is mirrored by the experiences of other students at his new school, who are constantly bullied by a group of…
A teenager who can see ghosts, travels back to the hometown that shunned him for his abilities as a child, to live with his similarly gifted uncle. This fresh start quickly turns sideways as his sole friend, and romantic interest, is a spectre - and his school has a violent haunting that might be responsible for disappearances amongst the student body.
Mourning Grave force feeds enough exposition in its opening set-up that you may choke to death... but you can still have a rich and fulfilling afterlife with the right medium. You'll see the main twist coming a mile away, and with its reveal, the film races to a conclusion that undermines an otherwise eerie atmosphere. Of the relationships with…
if i was a ghost i would also fall in love with in-su (kang ha-neul) and if i could see ghosts i would also fall in love with sae-hee (kim so-eun)
i wasn't emotionally prepared for how sad mourning grave was. my mind was solely fixated on the possibility of this being another cliché horror ghost story of hauntings and what's not. i was wrong. it affected me deeply - cried my eyes out. it was so moving because of the film's ability to separate itself from its genre, some things were quite obviously the standard for a horror film, but for the most time it felt different (mostly as a drama). the story is about in-su, a young boy…
Film aneh. Hantunya terlalu cantik, gimana mau kaget coba ☹
I enjoyed this more than I should have hahah
The acting was decent. The story was messy. The editing and switching tones was uneven.
With all it's faults, I still liked it.
"Joker versi hantu korea"
Man, that was so corny.
It started really well only to go downhill. It was scary, romantic and funny, but didn’t work well all together. The jump scares were a success but were just not enough to compensate whatever was lacking.
I was also confused with the end credits song.. hahaha sounds like a song from a Korean drama than a Korean horror film. There was also a rap part super lol
And what was the post-credits scenes for? To make us feel ugly cuz the actors look so pretty? Wasn’t that what they were already trying to do the whole film with all the countless zoomed shots of the actors’ pretty smiling faces? Seemed like a prenup video than a horror movie to me.
