Harvey 🎉 🎆 🎉’s review published on Letterboxd:
Icl out of all of the films that have been nominated for an Oscar this one right here is the one that I’ve been looking forward to watching this most despite not actually knowing all that much about it. Other than it being a moving relationship story
Give Kieran that fucking Oscar now.
In a 90 minute film he’s in this for 56m, the most % out of any supporting character in any film I believe.
And wow was his character really well written with an even better performance to match.
I loved how brutally honesty he was throughout and how seemingly uncaring he was for it to all release eventually.
But somehow the scene in which he’s in the least (the dinner scene) in the most profound, most heartbreaking scene of all.
But it’s all about him.
Which is such a testament to Jesses writing.
Although I fell in love with Kieran that’s not to say that Jesse Eisenberg does not deserve an insane amount of praise for his roles in this film.
Writer. Director. Actor. Genius.
How his character is always on the outside basically in every scene very distant both physically and mentally and how it was handled is just amazing work.
His monologue about his brother is exactly the same feeling I had throughout this whole thing.
I know I say it a lot and of recent I have been giving out a lot of high rating which is actually very rare for me but I absolutely adored this film.
It was just absolutely beautiful man.
And so so funny.
Just a really great time
Please give this one a watch.
Also, I’ve been wanting to watch Succession for so long, maybe this will be what finally gives me that kick up the ass.
However I’ve seen so many out of context clips of House recently and they’ve all been hilarious so I recently started that and for someone who’s never watched a hospital sitcom, (don’t tell me to watch greys anatomy) I’m actually really liking it.
