Very bad at updating my letterboxd and horror is my favorite genre so hopefully this works as a kind of immersion therapy. Love this concept!
Happy to report that these are all first-time viewings. This will definitely boost my knowledge of 80's horror (my by far weakest decade sadly). Might mess around with the list a wee bit because of inaccessibility, lack of k and j-horror, and a little bit too much 2010-nnes for my sake. Let me know your faves!
6 countries (US, UK, Italy, AUS, NZ, HK, Thailand, Sweden, Mexico, Yugoslavia)
6 decades (Tried to get from every we'll see lol)
7 2nd films of franchises (Lined up in a row+Doctor Sleep just in case)
4 body horror…

7 2nd films of franchises (Lined up in a row+Doctor Sleep just in case)
4 body horror films (NES 2 + Demons 2? Oilyman, Caltiki, Braindead, Ravenous) [I have an aversion to goop so if any of youse have a good really-goopy body horror movie send it my way]
2 films from this year (Host and Invisible Man)
3 disease based films (28 Days Later, Crazies, Variola Vera)
The highest-rated horror film from the 50s that you haven't seen and can access (Night of The Demon)
1 film that is set entirely inside one location (Not sure the definition. So maybe Next of Kin, Gothic, Session 9, Quiet Ones?)
1 Invisible Person film (The Invisible Man redux)
1 Non-Dracula Hammer Film (The Gorgon, technically The Quiet Ones lol)
2 films with a black director or predominantly black cast or lead. (Misread this as 3 while writing but the more the merrier!)
1 film with a movie theater in it. (Santa Sangre is on Hollie Horror's list so hopefully this counts!)
1 Tobe Hooper Film (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 baby lets get it)
Threw in some of my own personal rules for fun's sake.
1 Val Lewton production (my favorite horror auteur that isn't Tobe or George Romero)
*6 Films from Not The US or UK
2 Jared Harris pictures (RE:A and Quiet Ones) [favorite actor]
4 films directed by women (inspired by Women Make Film)
A picture from every decade (felt the need for something from da '40s and a silent picture)
A Massachusetts based film (missing my alma mater, Suffolk University, in person)
UPDATE: Swapping out Invisible Man for The Human Vapor because a) fun and b) I'm too lazy to pay to stream 2020's Invisible Man. Replacing it in the 2020 category with Blood Quantum.
Also likely will have to swap out A Chinese Ghost Story II and
Variola Vera because no subtitles but we'll get to that when it lands.
