Icl I watched this well over like 5 years ago and hated every second of it, however my taste in film has changed vastly throughout these years so should be interesting to revisit this one.

Oh wow okay. Before this watch I had this film at a 1 ⭐️, I just didn’t get the hype of it at all, I thought if anything it was exploitative at best. But holy this is actually very very good. 
I’m glad I rewatched this. 

Look Ik I love McConaughey but for me Chiwetel Ejiofor deserves that Oscar what a heart wrenching portrayal filled with a profound sense of vulnerability but also an unremarkable desire to stay strong. 
I think by far one of the most striking aspects of his performance is his subtlety. Not relying on grand gestures like other films of this kind but communicating through the smallest of expressions and body language. 

I really don’t know why I didn’t like this film when first watching, I really need to rewatch a lot of stuff because of how much my taste in film has changed, probably the one most being Saving Private Ryan cause I didn’t like that film at all.
