Long time listener, first time caller here. I would always remember Hootptober was a thing about halfway though October, never had time to catch up, and would feel left out.
Not this year, y'all. I have nothing else going on in my life except Animal Crossing, crafts, and watching movies.
Shout out to Cinemonster for his eternal dedication to the Hooptober cause 🖤
I really wanted to use this as an excuse to watch movies I've never seen, and rewatch ones I haven't seen in years. However, I needed *some* creature comforts...

For my 6 countries I really sought out countries with wildly different cultures from mine, that I may be unfamiliar with... but being an American under American streaming options, it became quickly apparent that I can’t actually watch half of the films I wanted to. So I threw in The Visitor to fill in the gap because I love me some bad Italian horror and I’ve not seen this one yet. Same with Possession (it’s not bad, it’s just French and I’ve never seen it)
Some of my second films I’ve seen quite a few times, but my housemate hasn’t and I will get him to watch these with me so help me god
The title may say “Body Horror films” but I decided it should instead say “David Cronenberg Makes Me Squirm in My Seat For 90 Minutes”
I personally don’t like a lot of disease films so I went a little cliche with it. Oh well.
Also, I personally adore the Cube movies. Watching 2 is hardly a feat for me.... so I decided to add all 3 and I’ll end up making a whole day of it.
Feel free to comment or tweet at me throughout Hooptober! I’m so excited to be playing along finally!!

Clearly one film can satisfy multiple criteria. Viewing and reviewing will begin at 12:01am cst on Sept 15th.
NB: since I’m presently unemployed and trying to do literally anything with my time that ISNT arguing with morons on the internet, I’m going to be doing a lot of “Hooptober Free Space” viewings where I watch more horror movies not on my list just to fill in the time. I’ll add those to the end as I watch them with the note FREE SPACE.
