One thing I should preface this review is that, I have no idea who Dick Cheney is, I have no idea what this film is going to be about or what on earth he did when he was VP so I’ve got nothing to compare it to which will of course disfigure the rating
Genuinely the only reason why I haven’t watched this film yet is because all I’d seen was stills from it and was convinced the main character was played by Chevy Chase.
YOU’RE TELLING ME THATS CHRISTIAN BALE?
No wonder this won best Makeup and Hairstyling because they all look phenomenal especially Sam Rockwell as Bush.
Now with all that being said.
This is how you make a film based on a true story it was phenomenal, there is never a dull moment in this whatsoever despite it being about a subject I don’t understand and don’t really care for.
It’s almost like a horror/thriller/documentary and I think a major reason for that is the cinematography and clever intertwining of historical footage, it didn’t surprise me at all to see that Greig Fraser (The Batman,Dune) and Adam McKay (The Big Short) was the ones who did this.
