Surprise surprise yet another “moving relationship story” sub genre film I loved.
It’s very much reminiscent of films like “the young and the damned” which I absolutely adore.
Idk what it is about black and white films that just work so well for me in these types of settings but it fully enhances the emotional depth of it specifically in this.
The performances are fantastic and truly authentic, particularly that of Yalitza Aparicio, her ability to convey her vulnerability and strength simultaneously is so well done.
And when that final emotional stab comes in the 3rd act you just can’t help but be succumbed to everything that she’s been feeling throughout.
Would highly recommend this
For sure need to Rewatch it
