While wrongly being attributed as horror by the censor board in 1932, Freaks is also suprisingly mean and cruel to the point of being horrifying. Yet, its still far more progressive than many movies I've seen from the past few years. A heartbreaking fable of greed, equality, acceptance of oneself and love.
