Oscar Winners (Ranked) (2023)
(Best Adaptive screenplay)
I mean I should 100% preface this by saying I could never understand the difficulties that the women in this film go through so don’t think I’m tryna judge.
Okay thanks.
This wasn’t great, normally I’d be a sucker for a film like this where it’s constant dialogue set in 1 location but I just didn’t like it all that much.
Even for a dialogue driven film it felt really slow paced the dialogue was a little drawn out and lacked the punch it needed to create an impact for me.
I think the colour grading is awful, the van scene is awful aswell as some of the stylistic shots which at times felt like they were meant solely for clips.
The character dynamics I think were the best part of this, they were fully developed and thought out and actually felt like a cohesive group facing a monumental decision.
Which is probably why it’s not getting that low of a rating, although it’s definitely lower than a lot of yours, I can see why it would be liked tho.
