Holy fuck why didn’t I watch this in the cinema man. 
This is just better than the original in every single department, what a film. 
That last 45m is breathtaking. 

I loved the new perspective they put on Maverick, it added so much depth to his character particularly with Miles Tellers’. 

I’ve seen Avatar the way of the water and I’ve got no idea how that beat this for visual effects, this is so beautiful in every way possible. 
The aerial combat scene at the end is exhilarating, it’s so intense and so rewarding in the end. 

I didn’t like the relationship role in this one as much as the last but I still think it worked well in balancing the high octane moments, much like the first. I loved every single character in this one, particularly Rooster. It’s crazy how far Miles Teller has come he’s a phenomenal actor and really brought a complexity with his performance that even Goose didn’t have. 

The soundtrack again is so good, using all the best from the first and bringing in more bangers. 
It fully stands on its own but it makes the original even better. 

This is like very top of 4, bottom of 4.5, so the rating could probably change. 

Got like 2 feature films left and it looks like I need to see both Tar and aftersun as the consensus is they were snubbed in some form.
