It’s not actually that bad, it’s just sort of unimaginative. I don’t want to straight up call it a Jaws ripoff because I feel like that discounts the little bit of sauce Joe Dante was trying to put here, but this isn’t even really that scary. I’ve seen Jaws a couple of times and it still is terrifying to a degree. With this? It’s more or less a political drama about the ecological state of the military influences. But it’s also not that deep. I’m not exactly sure what this is to be honest. I didn’t hate it though. I thought Heather Menzies-Urich was quite entertaining and it was only a cool 94 minutes. Just was hoping for a bit more from a film titled Piranha!
