James Whale is a brilliant filmmaker, this is only my second film after Frankenstein and I'm still blown away by the genius that's on display here. Over 90 years old and yet the filmmaking is just as fresh as it was all those decades ago. Near perfect visual effects with a narrative that adapts H G Welles' story marvelously. Surprised at how mean spirited and nasty the movie actually is with tons of murder and violence. Claude Rains is bloody brilliant as the titular Invisible Man and delivers an alltimer of a performance without even showing his face. Incredible from top to bottom!
