Oscar Winners (Ranked) (2024)
(Best Adapted screenplay)

I’ve left both this and The holdovers till last as I’ve attempted to watch them both on multiple occasions before and turned them off about 20m through. However I also did that to Game of Thrones the first 5 times I tried to watch it and that’s my favourite show of all time. So I knew I had to eventually give them another go; and this was the one I had most hope for.

And I’m so glad I did. This is Fantastic. I was contemplating whether this would be a 4 or a 4 1/2 but that last 45m is genuinely pure perfection, to the point I don’t want to say much about it in fear of spoiling for those who haven’t seen it.

Sandra Hüller needs to be in every movie every, she’s incredible, she genuinely could’ve won best supporting actress and best actress for 2 amazing films. She really captured the emotional complexity of Sandra showing both massive strength and shadowed vulnerability making you really keep on second guessing yourself throughout.

The constant close-ups used really enhance all emotions throughout, the car scene in particular at the end I found the cinematography to be immaculate, no words were needed at all because of it.

I’m curious to know what everyone’s verdict would’ve been,
Do you think she was innocent, or guilty?
