Slappy McGee’s review published on Letterboxd:
Welcome to the unfortunately titled "Tales That Witness Madness"... a VERY BRITISH anthology film that isn't half bad.
It actually reminded me a LOT of the far superior ASYLUM as it deals with psychiatric patients, and one-by-one we see their stories of how they ended up in the psycho ward.
Now this one DOES have a pretty stellar cast for a film like this. You have Donald Pleasence as the psychiatric doctor who is leading the tour of the four patient wards and telling their stories.
There's also appearances by Joan Collins and Kim Novak in a couple of the sequences. Very cool.
Here's further thoughts on each:
"Mr. Tiger" -- This is like if CALVIN AND HOBBES was a horror tale.
"Penny Farthing" -- A haunted painting uses a haunted bike to burn the fuck out of ya.
"Mel" -- I liked a review that simple says "A man fucks a tree". Accurate.
"Luau" -- I've been to some sketchy luaus... but this takes the cake... er... poi.
