Starring: The Wicked, Charming, Dutch Icon Rutger Hauer

With this picture, Rutger Hauer returns to the fantasy genre with a story that blends aspects of Cinderella and Outlander, and follows a privileged young woman who, on her birthday, receives the titular ring, which grants her two wishes, one of which is to go back in time and serve a wealthy family, where she learns the value of humility.

The story unfolds as one might expect: she finds love, becomes more humble, and fights off those who seek to ruin her life (personified by Hauer's character, who manages to portray this villain directly out of a Dickens novel). Hamilton does a great job as our protagonist, convincingly conveying the character's growth…

Rutger Hauer's entrance is him being a creep.
We don't even see him, just his arm grabbing our teenaged heroine. A new record, the whole ordeal took about three seconds. He was repulsively made up as Marlon Brando in 'The Nightcomers'. I admittedly got a little concerned as visually it didn't only remind me of that perverted Michael Winner movie, but the teens were played by women my age. I haven't changed much since dropoutation but nobody mistakes me for a 15 year old girl anymore at 26.
