The dialogue they came up with to match the characters' mouths is absolutely ridiculous. One of the funniest bits in the original Japanese movie is when Dr. Yamane brings a 20-minute version of the O.G. Godzilla and they watch that to prepare to fight him again. But in this version, it's more like a reenactment of the creation of kaiju with a little bit of Godzilla at the end. There's also just not enough monsters in general, but I think that was a complaint I had about the original, too.

I guess I'm glad I watched it from a completionist standpoint, but in the future I really should do a better job of checking to see whether or not I'm subjecting myself to an inferior American remake.
