Movies based on real events ranked kind of? <- easily my most liked and best list I have, lmk if there’s any feels I need to check out.
Although I do think it’s one of Tarantinos weakest film I do still think it’s great.
It’s Quentin Tarantinos’ love letter to the “golden age” of cinema and Hollywood.
Visually it’s absolutely glamorous it really captures the essence of the sun-soaked Los Angeles streets in the Late 60’s crossed with his signature style, which is evident in nearly every scene. His attention to detail is meticulously shown from the sets to the soundtrack to the nostalgic references which is probably why I don’t like it as much as I should because my knowledge in this period is minuscule.
My favourite scenes in this by far is when Cliff is at the Spahn/Manson ranch that fully captures the unsettling atmosphere of the Manson Family. It’s filled with Tension and Foreboding in a now almost dull eerie desolate setting contrasted with the packed vibrancy from the rest of the film.
It’s slowly built up allowing you to fully feel that ominous atmosphere and the close ups of Cliff really emphasise his discomfort of the bizarre dynamics at play.
And when you think it’s going to all culminate in a violent shoot out like classic Tarantino, he subverts your expectations in a quite funny way.
I really don’t know why I’ve put off Kill Bill for so long but that’s the only Tarantino film I’ve not seen and Ik it’s a lot of peoples favourites.
However I’ve got someone coming soon that’s never seen Harry Potter so gunna do a half marathon with her so probably won’t be today.
