you’re a slave to the machine, you have no true thoughts or regards for your fellow man, all you know is that you want your column. why would anyone believe your side of the story? you’ve most likely already sold their name for a small sniff of “success”, and they’ve already been bought. the walls never stop closing in, and your reputation can turn on the drop of a hat.

probably the best noir i’ve seen yet. depictions of pure evil, a response to what i can assume was the rampant mccarthyism of the time. eternally relevant, amazing shadowy cinematography, aggressive camera movement, tense and building jazz soundtrack, it’s got it all. i can tell i’ll revisit this soon.
