Nic’s review published on Letterboxd:
almost the inverse of the woman in the window, but similar in a few key ways. both have edward g. robinson and joan bennett, both are directed by fritz lang, and both have a lonely old male protagonist longing for youthful love. while woman plunges into darkness almost immediately, this one lingers for a while, mostly having you feel sad for robinson’s character. once the ball drops, however, it falls deeper and deeper down the noir rabbit hole where your past follows you forever and the walls close in indefinitely. would recommend, and overall i think j liked this one more than the woman in the window
