Dial M for Murder

Watched 09 Nov 2024

i really loved that the first third of this was just one scene of tony explaining how to do the murder to charles, that was definitely the highlight for me. the anti whodunnit aspect was also pretty cool, and i loved this being basically set in one room. this being in color did taint it a bit. it felt a bit of a drab palette, and at this time (early 50s), i think b&w would’ve suited the material more. rear window being the same year looks far better, and the color adds to that movie due to the voyeuristic nature, starting to understand welles’ feelings on color use. still, cool premise, and otherwise solid execution.
