11-year old me would have been obsessed with this movie. The son of Bava along with Argentina give us maybe the most 1985 movie of all time— the cocaine, the awkward attractions, the hair, and Berlin-made-in-Italy-but-in-English. The real star is the soundtrack- one of Simonetti’s finest and easily up there with John Carpenter for greatest electronic action-horror soundtracks. 

It would be four more years before we got Reagan telling the commies to tear down the wall, but I choose to believe that Bava’s film is a glimpse of how we could come together with a little American / European metal to fight the real enemy- Demons. 🤘🎸
