Tsukamoto’s Kotoko is a raw and haunting exploration of mental illness, brought to life by Cocco’s incredible acting and commitment to such a difficult subject matter. The cinematography and editing are visceral, creating a sense of realism and unease. It’s a heartbreaking and difficult watch.
