Madhukar’s review published on Letterboxd:
Dario Argento is perhaps the greatest giallo director and it is proven time and again throughout his career but nowhere is it more evident than his debut feature. To have such a deep sense of your style and have it so fully matured by your first film itself is almost miraculous. So precise and full of textures that is already near perfect which he would go onto explore and improve even further later on. Also most of the movie felt like Proto-Tenebrae which is easily his best movie, but this is not far behind. Incredible debut for a filmmaker who would go onto change the genre for the better. Also shoutout to Morricone and Storaro without whom this would not even been half as effective.
