The Funhouse Massacre
★★★★

I thought this was gonna be a grindhouse cheapie... but it's actually a rather modern horror-comedy (even though it's almost a decade old at this point). Full of some great gross-out effects and some pretty funny dialogue, this movie is VERY entertaining!

The flick starts with a (not so small) opening cameo by Freddy Krueger as he plays an asylum director introducing us to all of the psychos that will later wreck havoc on the local town. Pretty good setup actually, like introducing all the major players in a heist film.

Later we get another cameo from Malachai from "Children of the Corn" as the asshole director of the local Halloween Theme Park/Festival. Even though I almost didn't recognize him with shorter hair... until he started angry yelling. Then... there he is!

And among the 6 psychos that are now butchering up the locals at the Halloween Funhouse, is the Least Attractive Howard Family Sibling. He's always fun to have in any movie.

Plus the leader of the psychos is This Recognizable Dude who pops up in a lot of stuff. And he just looks like a damn leader of psychos.

Filmed at an actual haunted funhouse park in Ohio, I also had a good friend of mine appear in the movie... and I didn't even know it until I saw him. That was a hilarious "Leonardo Dicaprio pointing and whistling at the TV screen" moment for me.

It's a super solid fun ride of horror-comedy that is aided by some clever writing. Well worth checking out!
